SA: Firefighters hold fire behind breaks
Firefighters are still battling to bring a huge bushfire near the South Australian
city of Port Lincoln under control, but have managed to stop its progress toward the city.
More than 200 firefighters have been able to hold the northern edge of the fire at
a 16 kilometre fire break south of Port Lincoln.
A statement issued by the Country Fire Service says conditions have calmed but some
areas still burning are difficult to access.
About 11,000 hectares of scrub has been burnt -- half of that is within the Lincoln
National Park.
