SCHENECTADY - As the Mohawk River bubbled up through a storm grate near her feet, Lydia Eis leaned against a replica of a cannon in Riverside Park and stared at a small flock of Canada geese splashing in the rising river.
"Where did they come from?" she said.
"The Scotians sent them," replied Jennifer Wells. Both women live in the Stockade neighborhood in Schenectady and watched the city's twin spectacles Wednesday afternoon: The slowly rising Mohawk River and an infamous flock of Canada geese recently relocated from Collins Park in nearby Scotia.
