Qld: $127 mln for new water infrastructure in SEQ
Premier PETER BEATTIE says 127 million dollars will be ploughed into new water infrastructure
.. in drought-stricken south-east Queensland.
The funding includes 100-million dollars for piping .. to provide recycled water to
Tarong and Swanbank power stations.
14 million will be invested in research into a Gold Coast desalination plant .. and
one million to redesign the southern regional pipeline.
An additional 12 million dollars will be invested in an existing plan to help local
councils fix water mains breaks and leaks.
